Intro to Laser Engraving

This course introduces students to the fundamentals of laser engraving and cutting using the Omtech K40+ CO₂ laser and LightBurn software. Students will learn how laser engravers work, how to operate the machine safely, and how to prepare and execute engraving and cutting jobs. Through hands-on labs, students will design and engrave text and images, cut vector-based designs, and gain practical experience selecting materials and adjusting laser settings. By the end of the course, students will be able to confidently and safely run basic laser engraving projects from design to finished part.
